Tuesday marked Robyn’s first day back to work and Josie’s first day of school. Robyn wasn’t happy about it of course, Josie wasn’t too sure about the whole thing and Maddox was completely freaked out by Robyn leaving first that morning. As always though, it turned out alright in the end. We got soaked getting out of the car as the heavens opened up on us and Maddox was a proud big brother once we got inside. Josie finally settled in after Robyn had to make a lunch time visit since she wasn’t taking a bottle. I won’t say it was the smoothest of days, but it worked. We’ll try it all again on Friday, thanks to mom coming today and tomorrow. Taking the kids in to day care just isn’t fun, but for now anyway, that’s just how it is I guess.
The good stuff is today was Maddox’s 3rd birthday. Wow! It’s hard to believe how quick that little chuckleberry is growing up. He’s so much fun, and such a challenge right now. He certainly keeps us on our toes. We had a great afternoon of soccer outside with a little baseball and basketball mixed in, and then spaghetti and a trip to get ice cream. We’ll have his big party this weekend with a bouncy house and all of his neighborhood and school friends. Should be a good time. Fingers crossed the weather holds.
Josie is doing her share of growing up too. She’s very alert now and full of beautiful smiles. Tonight she just stared at me and smiled for a long time while I tried to get her to sleep. She’s really watching what’s going on now and she loves her big brother. She smiles every time she hears him. Pretty neat.
Robyn and super cool Josie
