Las Quatro Harwoods

My Sweet One

OK.  I’ll admit it.  This little lady has me wrapped around her finger right now.  I can’t believe how much personality she has already.  And how can I resist when each night when I put her to sleep she wants to snuggle up next to me?  Last night she fell asleep on the couch with her head in my hand.  So sweet.  Poor little lady has the RSB (or something like that) virus right now.  Makes her breathing a little labored and wheezy.  She’s a trooper though.  You’d never ever know she was sick by the way she’s acting.  She’s about as happy as they come.  Ok, to be fair, she gets fussy from time to time of course.  Especially lately as she’s been getting in her molars, and when she’s hungry she definitely lets you know it.  But she definitely has a sunny disposition.  She’s getting pretty good at letting us know what she wants too.  Lots of signs and pointing.  No real words yet, but she’s got her own vocabulary for sure.  She’s figured out where things are kept in the house and will go point at the fridge, the snack cabinet or the paci bowl when she needs them.  Funny.  Oh, and she dances every time we turn on music.  I love it.

I think she’s pretty much got her brother wrapped up too.  They are constantly snuggling on the couch or he stops by to give her a hug or a kiss every now and then just out of nowhere.  Last night he was working really hard to find one of her toys to make her happy after her breathing treatment.  He’s even tried to read her a book or two.  He doesn’t even see us in the mornings if she’s already awake.  He goes straight to give her a hug and a kiss.

Speaking of Maddox, he’s amazing us day after day. He’s shed the training wheels on his bike.  Dropped em like they were hot.  It took maybe 3 tries before he was off on his own.  He’s started writing his name on his own and can copy a pretty good list of letters and he’s working on some basic math too!  He’s like a little sponge these days soaking up all the information he can.  He listens intently to music in the car and often asks what story they are telling.  Pretty cool.  Oh, he’s also in a punk mode from time to time these days.  And its a big punk mode.  He’s just testing boundaries and doing what he’s supposed to as an almost four year old though I guess.  Have to remind myself of that from time to time.  Our sweet boy always comes back though.  He’s definitely got a heart of gold.

I can’t think of a time in my life when I’ve been more exhausted, but I also can’t think of a time when I’ve been happier.  These two kids have to be the smartest and coolest kids on the planet.
